As a lad from Cincinnati (out of Chicago), I am use to fairly mild wnters. A bit of snow, an occasional ice storm, and, rarely, a blizzard. I have come to learn what we call disasterous and severe winter weather passes for "normal" in many locations. Ottawa, Ontario is such a place. My Better Half and arrived in Ottawa (her home town) in mid-December with plans to stay a month. Our arrival was quickly greeted by a typical Ottawa winter event -- freezing rain and snow. Not wanting to venture outside and with my Cincinnati-mentality "knowing" the world was coming to an icy end, I was drawn to my D300 to record the beautiful disaster. After some good shots, I retreated back into the warmth of the house. My wife (who thinks I am a "winter wimp," -- she is right) picked up the camera and completed recording the scenes around the house.
I hope you enjoy the beauty of the Ottawa winter 2009/2010. (I still get a chill looking at them.)
