Dressed way too warmly, I headed for the D.C. Metro station for an enjoyable ride to The Mall, the quintessential tourist attraction in Washington. The weather report promised clear skies and temperatures in the low 90s. It was mid-April -- I was not ready for the mid-90s. I exited the Metro and spent two hours strolling The Mall, taking snapshots of whatever caught my eye. This gallery displays the pictures I liked the best of the five major edifices that attract millions of visitors each year: the Capitol, the White House, the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial and the Jefferson Memorial. I hope you enjoy this brief visit and walk around The Mall in Washington, D.C.
