Crystals & Flakes: Winter '09 in Cincinnati

January 2009 brought the first major storm to Cincinnati. As damaging as it was, with extended power outages, roadway accidents, sore backs (from shoveling) and general inconvenience, Cincinnati escaped the devastation experienced in Kentucky and elsewhere.

After the swearing and hand-wringing have passed and a sense of normalcy returns to the mind and heart, it is good to reflect on the beauty that nature gave us. Yes, it is hard to see the beauty when you’re digging-out or waiting in a major traffic tie-up, but the beauty is there if we choose to look. These photographs, all taken on my street, some out my window, will let us remember and enjoy the beauty that we may have missed while living through the onslaught.

Hi David! I'm Lillian~~~ Remember me? Lillian from Runping & Partners from Beijing! I just came back from Korea last night. Today I came to the office and just finished the work which has been piled up these days. Actually after meeting you on November 12, I went back to the offce and cannot wait to see your photo website, then I opened the website and had a look of your photos, but I was very busy that day for the next day's business schedule to Korea, I had no time to leave any comments. The photos you took are so amazing! You are so professional! I also like taking photos, but not professional at all. The pics are really wonderful!
