Ishigaki Island

Andres and I spent a wonderful long weekend on Ishigaki Island in October, 2006. We spent the first two days scuba diving the local dive sites. (Underwater photos can be seen at www.pbase.com/the_underwater_world)

We spent our last day taking in the local site on mopeds. It was great fun and we were lucky to have a beautiful sunny warm day! We started in the south of the island where we were staying and made our way up and around the coast to the west. We visited light houses, temples, beaches and a pottery store along the way! It was a great end to an amazing weekend!

sorry, but the chinese memorial, the Tang peoples grave, is the Tojinbaka (grave) Memorial to those workers killed off the ship. Down the road, is a small Buddhist Temple, that's the Kannon-do Temple, also called the Fusaki Kannon-do. Nice photos though.
