Order PASSERIFORMES

Drongos
Drongos are arboreal birds, black (grey in one species) in colour, and perch conspicuously. They have long forked tail of ten feathers and long pointed wings. They are fierce and aggressive birds, especially when breeding. (Smythies, The Birds of Borneo, 1999)

Orioles
This family includes some of the most beautiful birds, in plumage and in voice, of the tropical and temperate regions, from Europe to Africa to Australasia. In our area however they are seldom seen, only one species being at all common in the lowlands. Females are usually duller then males, and the young are heavily streaked below. They are birds of the tree tops, rarely descending to the ground. The flight is swift and rather heavy, with long undulations and a curious unstable action. (Smythies, The Birds of Borneo, 1999)
