Order PASSERIFORMES

Cuckooshrikes
Cuckooshrikes have soft, fluffy feathers and short legs. Most species are noisy, conspicuous, flocking birds of the forest canopy. Most are dull coloured, black, white and grey. All eat insects, some also take fruits. They do not alight on the ground. (John Mackinnon, The Birds of Borneo, Sumatra, Java and Bali, 1993)

Minivets
Like the Cuckoo-shrikes, to which they are related, the minivets are wholly arboreal; they are delightful birds with their long tails and brilliant plumage, usually red in the male and yellow in the female. They characteristically occur in parties of up to dozen or more birds, which keep together with constant twittering calls, but the parties may be loosely strung, with a tendency to fly from tree to tree in twos or threes. (Derek Holmes & Stephen Nash, The Birds of Sumatra and Kalimantan, 1990)
