Sandridge

Sandridge built two versions; its first was the boxed kit (Force-5), which featured a normal size frame with a large box mounted underneath. The second version was the Tiny Tornado, which had all the circuitry mounted in an extra wide grip frame. The frames used two mac valves and an LCD angel trigger. Unlike the PMS system, the timing was mostly automatic and both the sear and the ram were electronically controlled. The reflective eye was also a noticeable change. I wish I could say improvement, but I believe it was the main reason for many of the complaints of reliability.

As far as reliability went, I was not alone in having issues, the kit rapidly lost popularity as rumors of constant issues sprang up, and is now considered obsolete. This isn’t exactly true. When it functioned, they were incredibly fast guns and easy on paint. Although they lack the “features” of current e-frames, for pure semi auto ROF they are an easy match.

Although I regret selling my first Sandridge, it is probably good I did. Had I sent it back to Sandridge, It is very likely it would have disappeared. Although I found Rich to be a nice guy to talk too, Sandridge ran into serious money issues. For whatever reason, the shop closed and many of the guns sent back to Sandridge for repair were sold into Canada and most disappeared.

Were I to find my old Sandridge, I would love to have it back.
