Lioness adopts baby oryx

A few pictures of the lioness that adopts baby oryxes (Samburu National Park, Kenya). These are pictures of the lioness and the fifth baby oryx.

I watched the documentary, it was really sweet and sad, but she didn't find an oryx that lost its mom, she sort of kidnapped them out of, i guess you could say, grief. Problem is, that when she adopted them, they were too young to be able to digest plants, they needed milk, and she couldnt give it to them, so they starved. The first one she had was taken by a male lion (it was super sad!) then one starved, one excaped, and the last one she abandon (but it found its way back to its original mother). It was really sweet and evidence that animals feel too.

That is SO adorable i think it is so cool that a feirce lion would adopt a baby "prey"!
My mom went on a mission trip to Kenya in 2006! One part of a song some kenyan kids sang to her was we have a little heaven down here! That reminds me that The bible says in heaven the lion and the lamb will walk together! In a forein country they have a little heaven!.........:)Aj

I am so happy & relieved that the oryx-adopting lioness adopted an orphan baby oryx that might have lost its oryx mother, and the good lioness reared the orphan antelope as her own. Because, it is just like Lemony Snicket says: "If you have ever lost someone important to you, you already know how it feels. But if you have not lost a family or friend, you cannot possibly imagine it." Lemony Snicket is right. Deep down and out, the lioness has a good, loving, caring heart, and so cared for the little orphan antelope, and raised it as her own. She has an excellent motherly instinct for the oryx.

that is so amazing how the lioness broke the law of nature but is so horrible how nature got its revenge
