MP Fledge 2006

After 7 - 10 days (~2 weeks) from hatching, the juvs emerge from their hideouts to learn things from the parents. I was surprised to see only the female juv with the female adult. They are actually ready to fly. The juv is seen doing kimonos and even taking evasive steps with approaching terns. Only after did I spot the male juv with the male parent! It seems that the same sex parent will train the juv in their roles. The males were at the sandbar feeding and flying around, while the female was playing sitting and nesting games. 100% survival rate for M Plovers this season!
