We made it back from my trip to the US Northern Rockies to visit our son in Montana. My wife and I had a wonderful time revisiting some of the places that we fell in love with during the short time that we lived there. I took about 22 gigs of photos starting with the Badlands of South Dakota and ending my photo journey at Mount Rushmore, also in S. Dakota. The 1st two and last 2 days of driving was just getting to that area from Savannah Georgia, about 1600 miles each way. On the way back we detoured through Wichita, Kansas to visit some friends for the evening and the last day was a 17 hour 1,200 mile drive to get home (at 3am). I have a ton of pics to process (lots of HDR) and I'm sure it will keep me busy for a few weeks as I share them with you all. The topic heading is called CruiseAmerica as that was my wife’s favorite saying as we saw many CruiseAmerica campers along the way.
The CruiseAmerica series will start with the Badlands and then take you across the Beartooth Highway in Montana (elevation of 10,947 feet) ranked in the top 5 scenic highways in the US. We will then journey through Yellowstone and up to The Gates of the Mountains waterway near Helena, Montana as we make our way to Glacier Nat’l Park. As we end our journey in Keystone S. Dakota and Mount Rushmore by way of the Black Hills Nat’l Park.
