An adapter plate, made by Jan's Machining in Mesa, was used to attach the Orion Atlas to the Paramount ME/MX permanent pier. The plate is 3/4 inch thick just because that's the stock they had. Half-inch would work.
26-Aug-2012: This plate is now available for a nominal fee if anyone wants it.
