About one-half of the Biloxi-Ocean Springs Bridge were damaged when tides lifted the spans off their supports during Hurricane Camille in 1969. It was only one of 2 catagory 5 storms to make landfall in the United States. Today the remains of this bridge has become a popular fishing spot for local fisherman. The replacement bridge constructed after Camille was destroyed by Huricaine Katrina in 2005.
