My goddess daughter, Emily Kolon, has danced for the past five years with a company in Ann Arbor, Michigan called Cornrows. In all that time I had never been able to attend a performance, that is until Sunday night. What I saw/experienced was a superb mix of dances, most of them choreographed by members of the company. Such talent, life and passion! As I watched some of their moves, my body engaged its "muscle memory" of the years when I used to study with a wildly creative modern dance choreographer, Denise Szykula. How I love it when that happens.
