motel self portrait

Is it my imagination or does this image have a similar mood to an Edward Hopper painting? Not to say it's as good as a Hopper, just that it makes me think of him. I took this photo as I was packing up to leave my New Jersey motel on Friday morning. I'd seen the potential for this shot from the first night, but hadn't had time to take it until the very last minute. Does that happen to you? You'll see a possible shot but keep putting off taking it until it's almost too late? I'm glad I caught this one.

My old stomping grounds, Jersey!

I like the way you put yourself in the picture, but
just enough to make us want to push that door out of the way
so we can enter the room.

No subliminal black virgin today, but I see a halo and an angel needing a good night's repair. I gather the wings are in the laundry! :-))))

PS: I love hotel rooms, being out there in the world, away from home, and recreating privacy in impersonal surroundings.... (here's an idea for an essay!)

Beautiful image - and it has that typical hotel flair.

Nice morning shot. My motto is better late than never. I usually try and shoot anything during my day so I have a visual record of it and yes I am still guilty of putting off some shots :( Occasionally, I do get that good one :)
