After having freshened up my one year-old earth armband (three new photos on my Inbox), tattoo artist Caryl Cunningham of Eternal Tattoos brought her creative skills to the task of covering up an old tattoo that Heidi had on her thigh. Both of them graciously allowed me to photograph the process.

It started with Caryl drawing a new image over the old using a black marker. The image was her own design. Next she prepared her inks and tattoo equipment. By the way, Caryl is scrupulous about keeping everything clean and antiseptic. I'd guess she changed her black plastic gloves at least half a dozen times during the hour and a half it took to complete the process. Interestingly enough, my camera's battery died right before the final unveiling, so the masterpiece you see in the final picture of this gallery was taken by Caryl using her camera.
