I'm pretty sure this is called Windmill Pink (Silene gallica) which I've found in Arastradero Preserve, CA. It appears to differ from Catchfly in that the pods are covered in spines (catchfly is smooth) and catchfly has long tendrils emenating from the center (Windmill Pink doesn't).
