I used 100-400L IS and flash for some of the hummingbirds. I had lots of shots that were only black against white with no dynamic range. I think a prime would be better. Now, I think I would get 300 f4L IS with 1.4 converter. My camera got wet in the cloud forest and died half way through the trip. I think water ran down my lens and shorted out my camera. Get a camera raincoat! Or take two bodies!

Very nice pictures. Do you mind sharing what lenses you used in CR? Everyone seems to be fighting the light down there. Did you use flash? Thanks!
