First Rose of 2002

Holmdel, NJ

This is from a McCartney rose bush that I bought at the end of the season a few years back. It grows to about ten feet, maybe more, and decadently blooms from May until November! This photo was taken with the Olympus E-100 RS.

Dear Willa,
This photo of the rose is absolutely breath taking. The colors are magnificent and I can feel the softness captured here. The flower looks so fresh it is as if it was waiting until you got there to shoot it to open up and bloom. I love the way you captured the veins and curls of the leaves in such a subtle manner. Beautiful, just beautiful!
