Meloneras

At the opposite end of the promenade from Maspalomas Lighthouse. Consists of a rather tired beach and a rather new, grand looking shopping centre. Unfortunately, the shopping centre is only partially occupied. The shops that were open only had a very small number of customers. Some of the restaurants are very good. We tried the Chinese and the Italian (Ciao Ciao) and both were excellent.

We were in Meloneras in 2007 and 2008. The first time we visited Ciao Ciao restaurant, we only went there because we were too hungry to go back to the lighthouse area. But we were so much positively surprised! Really excellent italian food!
