These photographs are from a time of trays and sinks; liquid developers, stop baths and fixers. They were resurrected from older black and white prints found hiding deep in my closet. They were scanned and brought to this page through the wonders of technology.I know that the quality of some are questionable but they were some of the first photographs I had ever taken and I was just learning the art of taking the photograph as well as printing the image. That's how many of them ended up in the dark recesses of my closet. I was a "closet" photographer for many years until I felt comfortable enough with my work to let it be seen. These are a few of those very early attempts at a medium I have now been using for over forty years and am still learning as the technology ever changes. Now we are in the age of digital and many younger photographers will have only heard stories of how it was to work in the semi dark, with trays of smelly chemicals and long printing sessions that went on late into the night. So I hope you can indulge a man's fancy and gain something from wading through this early portfolio of my "closet" work.
Years later I still enjoy shooting in the black & white medium and will post more in time.
