Amazing! Thanks for putting this together for others to enjoy. A suggestion would be to put a page together where you have locations (like the nation forests or counties the falls are located at) and then list out the waterfalls that you can visit there. That would be helpful to those who are looking for places to visit while in a certain area.

If you are ever in Mitchell County, NC you should try to see Roan Falls. Access is most fun and best view from bottom. Enter off of SR261 just over 1 mile past Thomas Grocery Store in Glen Ayer.

North Carolina seems to have an abundance of waterfalls, many of them very photogenic and you seem to have photographed them quite well in most cases. I do note one failure of yours and that is in the very best shot of a particular falls you have a peron or several in the shot (which for me is a spoiler). If you want to do this and it's certainly your priviladge as the photographer, shoot a second shot without the people either before or after. I wish you well in your continued efforts.

Highest falls east of the Rockies is Crabtree Falls Va. at 1200 feet. I still say that North Carolina has any of them beat! Thanks for the pics.

It's a shame so many of the best waterfalls in NC are on private property, hidden from the general public, unmarked, and inaccessible with inadequate trail access. We probably have some monster falls nobody knows about.

In response to the previous post, the Dry Falls parking area was still closed and under construction when I passed through there on June 3rd. I visited Pickelshimer Rockhouse Falls for the first time, and it was quite a treat - plenty of fresh bear tracks around the cave though, so we were plenty wary. Glenn Falls also had lots of water and looked especially nice. Finally, I managed to find one nice named waterfall that neither Rick nor Kevin mention in their listings - Cover Falls in Cherokee County... It's just a short hike off Cover Falls Road in Andrews. Kennedy Falls, a small, but beautiful falls, is also nearby in the Granny Squirrel area...

I have a weakness for watefalls of any kind and am starting my own collection. The images here are excellent. However, I would like to see some with a faster shutter speed. The "ribbon" effect is nice, but post some with the droplets stopped in their tracks.

Yet man is so confused that he does not want to attribute such specatcular and maginficent work to God. How many tornadoes do you need to sweep across a junkyard to assemble a boeing 747? Okay, let me rewrite the comment a little better. I am taking classes to learn how to build web pages. I wanted to base my web site on "Spring Is Here". So I put a page for flowers, butterflies, etc. Then I tried to think of something else that would go with spring/summer. Ah! Taking a trip to a place with nice waterfalls. Well nice is not the word. As I said in my previous comment, these photos are breath taking. I didn't know that we had waterfalls this beautiful so close to me. When I am finish I will email you my site. wow these pictures are amazing. we tried to get to that upper overlook of flat creek falls yesterday, but ended up lost out there. we did get to the base, and it had to be one of the most amazing waterfalls i have ever seen. after ending up at Bear Lake, thoroughly lost, we made it back to Rock Bridge Road around 8pm. Be careful out in dem woods!

Thanks - a friend of mine took me to that overlook for Flat Creek Falls. I think Kevin Adams had told him about it. There's no trail and it was very difficult to find.

What a truely inspiring, heartstopping site you have going here. I am an eager, excited ametuer photographer. I am never without my camera. I have a question...I recently visited Cherokee, NC for a short fishing trip, on our way down Big Cove Rd we visited Mingo Falls. Breathtaking! More so was what I found in my photo that I didn't see with the naked eye...an Indian looking over the falls. It is amazing! Have you ever heard this before? I have looked at other photos and haven't seen him there either. I look forward to hearing from you.

You really should make a photo book out of your photos, got to be a market for it out there. Very nice! I know from my own experiece, that photographing waterfalls can be a challenge...too much water, not enough water, ticks, poison ivy, and long hikes only to find dense vegetation blocking your view. Nice Work!! Perhaps you should consider a book like Tim Ernst has done with his called (Arkansas Waterfalls Guidebook...How To Find 133 Spectacular Waterfalls & Cascades in "The Natural State").
