In 2005 this property became available for purchase and The Nature Conservancy and Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy in Hendersonville along with other partners saved the area from development. The land has been transferred to the NC Dept of Parks and Recreation as part of the State Park and is currently officially closed to the public. Luckily tho, I know SCJack who just became a monitor for this area under CMLC. He was headed there today for a check of the area and I was fortunate enough to be invited along. His wife's cousin Rick was down from Delware and he joined us also.

This view is nice but it's in what looks like a popular party area. I have nothing against the partying but what the hell is wrong with you pigs that leave all that litter!?!? Take your garbage back out with you for god's sake!
