That book I referenced is somewhat outdated and the bushwhack we were expecting turned out to be more of a stroll in the woods for us. There is now a trail of sorts all the way down to the Chattooga River on the right side of the creek. It's very faint in places and very obvious in others. The land between the first waterfall and the second is fairly flat and the woods are mostly open, but it's well over a mile to the top of the second falls. We finally saw the land falling away and the trail took us to this side view of the waterfall.
