Many of you recognize the name Harry from my previous ramblings. He has herniated discs in his neck and is going under the knife on Tuesday. I'd appreciate it if you would send some good vibes his way. I was up there this week end for some moral support and went out for a hike Saturday morning. It had been since the days of film when I had last been to the Lower Whitewater Falls overlook, so I headed down 281 south to the Bad Creek Power Station just inside the SC state line. Parking for the trail is at one place, but if you continue on there's a visitor's overlook of Lake Jocassee. This is the view up the Whitewater River finger of Lake Jocassee. The trail head parking is somewhere in the middle left of the photo at about the same elevation as the top of the waterfall. The trail goes out and around the top of the falls, then comes out on the ridge line on the right side of the river near the waterfall.
