We try to start the New Year off right by hiking to waterfalls we haven't been to yet. This isn't an easy task, but my pal Bernie has come through in the past few years and we were counting on him again this year. He not only had one for us, but 4 new ones. This 50 footer is on Willis Creek in one of the Wildlife Management Areas off of Hwy 178 in Pickens County. The forest road that this is off of is open for hunters at certain times of the year and today was the last day for a while. Even though the area had some nice rain in the last couple of days, the drought still continues and it shows in the lower volume streams.
