I still had 3 hours to kill before I met up with the other 3, so I headed to the nearby Skinny Dip Falls right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. It's on Yellowstone Prong which flows out of Graveyard Fields. At the junction of Dark Prong, the stream changes names to East Fork Pigeon River.

No one was at the waterfall when I got there just after 7am. The rhodo around the falls and stream were gorgeous.
