Now, is that left going up stream or down?? This nice falls is just around the bend from the previous picture and is about 20-25' high. And that dang sun is starting to creep into the picture. Now if you've never river walked before, you might wonder how one would get around a waterfall like this. You DO NOT climb up the waterfall. Look left and right into the woods and decide if either way is doable. If not, you're done - it's not safe to continue.

In this case, Harry and I looked to the big rock on the left and decided we could climb it, then scramble through the dense shrub. We found a safe place to cross and did just that. If water levels are up, crossing wouldn't be safe.
