Our plan for Sunday was to get up early to try and catch a sunrise at Clingman's Dome. I had never been and didn't know what to expect. Turns out we should have gotten up about 30 minutes sooner. On the way up 441 I realized we weren't going to make it. We could have pulled over early at a couple of places, but there's weren't any clouds in the sky to make the sunrise spectacular, so we pressed on. By the time we huffed and puffed our way to the tower, the sun had risen and was shining on the ramp.
