I got up at 4AM, looked outside and saw partly cloudy and decided it was worth a trip to the Parkway for a potential sunrise. Just as soon as I got up there, the fog moved in. It was really bad by the time I got to the Pounding Mill Overlook - but I wasn't the only one taking a chance. The sun did rise just as it always does and I'm sure somewhere else it was pretty darn nice. I ended up hanging here until after 9 just in case the fog lifted - maybe Looking Glass Rock would have some interesting light. Nope. I finally gave up and continued south on the Parkway hoping for some clearing.
