After poking around a little more, I found another rock outcrop area and lo and behold, there were the pitcher plants! By now that storm was getting a lot closer, so I headed into the shrub to wait it out. It rained really hard for 20-30 minutes, but I had my raincoat and pack cover and stayed dry. Before the rain I had seen this little crab spider and went back to see if he was still there - and he was!
