My sister Jan got the hiking bug when we went blueberry picking a few weeks ago up on Black Balsam and has been eager to get back out - this time to some waterfalls. The question was which ones to take her to first. I had planned on a tour of some of the Pisgah Forest waterfalls around Brevard, but water levels have been really low lately and I wasn't so sure about that idea. When she mentioned a guy at work had been talking about DuPont State Forest, I figured that would be an excellent place to begin. Even with low water, the waterfalls are still pretty impressive. We skipped Hooker Falls and headed up to Triple Falls. I first took her to the base of the lower section.
