Bernie had also been back to the Dismal Creek area several times recently. The topo map shows Dismal Falls at the 3200' elevation, but when he was up at the Dismal Falls we had been to and was the accepted Dismal Falls, he took a GPS reading and found it to be at around 3600'. Hmmm, he said. Rhapsodie Falls is in the next drainage over from Dismal and it's around the 3200' elevation. So he worked his way over to the Dismal Creek gorge from Rhapsodie and look what he found - a nice 30 footer!
