The trail continues now on the right side of the creek but becomes obscure. You are again better off in the creek, but you might notice where others have been through the dog hobble. Cross the creek to the left side again at a place where a log has dammed the creek. The trail is again obvious and continues a short distance to the beautiful 30' waterfall. I unofficially named it Red Rock Falls a few years ago because of the red rock in the falls. Kevin Adams calls this Upper Courthouse Falls on page 313 of his NC waterfall book. I got lucky here - the waterfall was still mostly shaded and it looked like some clouds were moving in.
