I did come across a few areas where wildflowers would be blooming in profusion in a week or so. A few fringed phacelia, trout lilies, phlox, and quite a few violets were blooming, but again I shot more video. I set up here hoping some horses or walkers would come by, but none did while I had the camera mounted. both came by while I had the video camera going, tho. This is a beautiful area of the Smokies and would be an excellent place to set up camp. Quite a few trails branch off to other areas of the park.
