Today was supposed to be a beautiful sunny Spring day - and it was - so I decided to head back to Big Creek to see what else was blooming and to maybe hike to Walnut Bottom camping area. Kevin Adams gives a great description of what's blooming along the trail and lists the hike as almost 12 miles round trip. This is still a little early in the blooming season, but there were several new varieties in bloom since my visit a couple of weeks ago. Pictured here is Purple Phacelia (Phacelia bipinnatifida).
