Shortia galacifolia 1

Oconee Bells are quite rare, but grow in abundance in sections of the Jocassee Gorge area. Devil's Fork State Park in SC is one of those places. They generally line the banks of creeks as they do here. Warm temps came early this year and the blooms were ahead of schedule. There may have been only a very few days left of blooming.
