When we crossed the river we looked up stream and saw some yellow, so we decided to head up the trail on the right. Just as we dropped packs at this point, Harry looked up and said, "bear!" A nice one was crossing the river about 75 yards in front of us. 5 seconds later it was gone - both cameras still in my pack. So picture a bear crossing about 2/3's up in this photo... Most of the scenery along the river was the same, so we didn't go down too far. As you see, the water levels are still very low in this area.
