I decided to head to a different part of the mountains today and picked the Mount Mitchell area. Something was telling me to go to Crabtree Falls while I was over that way. I was still debating as I headed up Hwy 80 towards the Parkway since the sun was beginning to come up and the skies were clear. You have to be at the falls early enough to beat the sun from coming over the mountain and hitting the falls. I got to the Parkway and turned right towards Crabtree Meadows. I double timed it down the trail to the waterfall and looked up to see clouds moving in to the east - yeah!
