FR86E narrows to an overgrown grassy trail as it passes through a section of the red spruce forest. None of the trees were very tall - 20' maybe? - some were skeletons while others appeared to be healthy. The trail continues on for about 1.5 miles and kind of ends, but a smaller side trail cuts back to the left and heads down towards the top of the waterfall. I could hear the waterfall from the main trail a few minutes before the cut back.
