Edinburgh, Loanhead and Roslin Railway

The Edinburgh, Loanhead and Roslin Railway opened in 1873 serving a number of coalmines and stations. Today a fairly short section of track still exists in a not too bad condition just South/West of the Millerhill Junction, it obvious that money has been spent fairly recently on signal work. The track continues past the barrier at the bridge to Loanhead, although it is completely overgrown.

Wouldn't it be a reasonably cheap exercise to re-open this line to Loanhead and extend the Edinburgh CrossRail services from Newcraighall to Gilmerton and Loanhead?

And yeah, I did jump the fence...
