To coincide with the World Cup in the South, North Korea staged the 100,000 person mass games. The theme was "Arirang", a Korean tale of two lovers seprated during a war: An analogy to the current divide. The scope and precision of this display was mind boggling. 10 months were spent preparing for this display. The equivalent cost in the capitlist world would have been something on the order of US$5bn, or US$250/person in a country where people starving. And they loved it...
It´s hard to know if these photos are awesome more because your photographic talent, or because of the enormous US$5bn that Dear Leader threw at the games, and the incredibly choreographed spectacle that results! Either way, really great pics, well composed, with a very dreamy, almost unreal look - to me they add further intrigue to the mystique of this extraordinary country, rather than making it any less mysterious

Spectacular! Glamourous! A typical trick to seduce the people. I can see how they smile in fear, afraid of falling out of line. Interesting to see it so clear as in these pictures. Very nice work, get's my vote!
