Festa di Santissima Maria di Custonaci

Late each August is the two-day feast of Santissima Maria of Custonaci, Guardian and Patron of Erice. In olden days the large icon of the Madonna was carried from coastal Custonaci to the Chiesa Madre, Duomo of Erice. Now the icon is carried from the Erice Duomo to the town square. Custonaci has its own procession and big celebration.
