Queensland Main Roads and AAPA Strategic Alliance have embarked on developing a specification for more durable and easier to place Stone Mastic Asphalt. Begining in late November 2004 the specification was included in the Trials Contract by late January 2005. Mix design, pre-placement trials have been completed. The full scale trials now take place on the Gateway Motorway south of the Mt Gravatt-Capalaba I/C during May 2005.
