These Greater Yellowlegs were dozing, while waiting out high tide on an abandoned concrete pier
until a boater nearby walked out on another pier to his boat's berth in the adjacent marina.
The Yellowleg's pier is covered in yellow lichen. Likely the concrete has been enriched with
the spill of nutrients as the pier is a dropping point for gulls cracking clams and barnacles.
