After hunting in the shallow waters of the surf for hours, this juvenile Phalarope finally
settled down for a "bubble bath" at the water's edge.
I was amazed at how completely fearless of me it was while both feeding and resting.
Lovely:) The texture and detail with the white not blown out is spectacular. Wonderful to have a nice cooperative bird. Hope the bird doesn't get too trusting. Maybe it was tired after flying all those miles!

Pshaw, Verne,
If you were to offer a field trip, I'd attend to hang out with you--
a person who loves the natural world and can express it's beauty with a camera.
(Naming is useful, but still a human construct)

What an incredible photo! I love that you can see every detail of its back and shoulders, and the individual feather barbs on its sides, and the pleased glint in its eye.
