Black Turnstones

Martin Luther King Shoreline, Oakland, CA

Near sunset they were flying to another part of the rocky shoreline of a low
tide to continue foraging. They actually do turn stones over. They flip
stones about the size of their head over by bumping it with their forehead
and beak. Then they look for morsels where the rock was or on the bottom of the
rock itself.
There is also one Ruddy Turnstone visible in this flock.
