Yes, we lived in New York before moving here. Hilton, N.Y, to be more exact. It used to be the nation's premier growing region, and many types of apples, for example, were named after places in New York. But I think the Pacific Northwest has taken over! I'm guessing that this may be that the growing season in N.Y. is just too short?? Lake winds also whip you around at 50MPH just about every day, or so it seems!

This looks a lot like a tomato I saw in New York once. Perhaps a distant cousin. Hope it was as flavorful. MMmmmm New York tomatoes were yummy.
