Buddhist University with a main campus in Bangkok and extension campuses throughout the country. Founded in 1887 by King Chulalongkorn to establish a major higher education institute for Buddhist monks, novices, and laypeople with an emphasis on Buddhist Studies. Now a public university with many undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs, some of which are internationally oriented and conducted in English.
