Yellowstone National Park: Clepsydra Geyser

Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Another gem on the Fountain Paint Pots Trail. Its temperature is 197°F. It erupts at a height of 10-40 feet. The geyser was named in 1873 for its regularity -- like the ancient Greek water clock. Since the 1959 earthquake, Clepsydra spouts nearly constantly and discharges nearly 675 gallons per minute.
