The old funicular railway, built in 1893, is still in use for the lower part of the ascent.
The new 'open roof' cable car, built 2012, is called 'Cabrio' and is used for the upper part of the ascent.
Originally the funicular railway went all the way up the top, but when the middle station was destroyed by a fire in 1975 and it was replaced by a cable car.
This 'old cable' car has now been replaced by the 'Cabrio'.
